Their forelegs are stronger than other types of insects and they can grasp onto their prey with their powerful front legs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Praying mantis are known to catch their prey using their two powerful front legs which are bent backward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although praying mantises are generally not aggressive insects, it is possible for them to become agitated or irritated if handled roughly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Praying mantises are carnivores insects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also consume small animals including birds and reptiles. It’s not clear how much, if any, prey they take in their diets, however they have been known to attack and kill small mammals such as rats and mice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their strong mandibles allows them to chew and eat meat from these animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their coloration allows them to blend in with the vegetation. However, you will notice them because of their distinctive way of moving. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
